: R0114748 On Site AIKEN, South Carolina, United States Full time Purpose and Scope: The Consulting Engineer is responsible for providing engineering guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of engineering within schedule and budget of an assigned project. Additional responsibilities may be assigned according to the needs of the company, project, or contract. Essential Responsibilities: Prepares, reviews and approves drawings as required. ~Prepares and presents expert testimony before regulatory bodies and courts. ~Prepares and makes presentations to client and company management. ~Assists with interpreting codes and permitting as it relates to a specific discipline. ~Ensures quality, quantity, and completeness of the assigned engineering tasks. ~Advanced level of specialized engineering knowledge within a specific discipline and has basic understanding of other disciplines. ~Fully versed in business development concepts and methods and supports the project proposal process. ~Fully versed with the process of preparing and checking calculations as well as the approval, revision, retention, and storage of calculations within a specific discipline .~Fully versed in the collection and/or evaluation of data and information regarding technical and economic factors including physical, chemical, environmental, maintenance, operational, regulatory, constructability, and/or schedule factors relating to a specific subject within a discipline. ~Reviews and advises on purchase orders and subcontracts. ~Assists with the development of manpower, man-hour and labor cost requirements to aid in evaluating the budget. ~Leads estimating tasks and performs material take off's for a specific discipline. ~Fully understands the planning and scheduling of engineering tasks.~Understands the project change control process and identifies potential changes. ~Fully versed with and can check the work sequence, general content and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services or construction within a specific discipline. ~Can integrate all project functional requirements into a complete project plan. ~Builds productive relationships with organizations within and external to Engineering. ~Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university. 15+ years of professional experience in a discipline or specialty. Experience with nuclear engineering in field and design work. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Position requires the ability to obtain maintain a Security Clearance. Travel may be required. Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen. Preferred Requirements Master of Science or Doctorate in specialty of discipline preferred. Professional Engineering License preferred. Experience with DOE DOE Q clearance
